Work permits for foreigners in Poland
A new act on employing foreigners has applied since 2025: applications are online only, and from 1 December 2025 the fees and the list of countries for the simplified procedure changed. We help workers and employers in Wrocław.
Main options
The basis depends on your citizenship and status in Poland.
Oświadczenie o powierzeniu pracy
A simplified procedure for citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine: the employer registers the statement at the district labour office. Fee: 400 zł. Georgia was removed from the list on 1.12.2025.
Zezwolenie na pracę
A voivode's permit for other cases. Fee: 200 zł for up to 3 months and 400 zł for longer; a seasonal permit costs 100 zł.
No permit needed
No permit is needed with permanent residence, EU resident status, a Karta Polaka or full-time study in Poland. With UKR status the employer only notifies the labour office.
How the application is filed
Since 1 June 2025 applications for permits and statements can only be filed electronically.
- Employer account on praca.gov.pl — with a qualified signature or login.gov.pl
- Worker's details: passport, basis of stay in Poland
- Job terms: position, pay, working hours
- Proof of fee payment
- Attachments signed electronically — qualified, trusted or personal signature
Work and a residence card
If you plan to work longer, a work permit is not the only route: a single permit to stay and work (karta pobytu w celu pracy) covers both. See our temporary residence page for details.
